Full description

Have you ever wanted to breathe underwater? The ‘baptism of the sea’ in Cattolica is the perfect opportunity to get to know the world of scuba diving, thanks to expert instructors who will teach you everything from the very basics.

In two and a half hours, you’ll experience a dive to a depth of up to 5 metres, discovering that there’s much more beneath the surface than you could ever imagine. And your first dive will instantly turn into a lifelong passion… because you’ll be itching to say ‘yes’ to your next dive!

What we will do

Please arrive 10 minutes before the time selected when booking in Cattolica (RN) to set sail on a sailing boat towards the San Bartolo Nature Park.

After a brief introduction to the equipment, to learn how to breathe and equalise underwater, we’ll do a bit of snorkelling to get to grips with what we’ve learnt so far. We’ll then begin descending to a depth of 3–5 metres to practise clearing our masks and regulators.

At this point, we’ll be ready for the actual dive – to a maximum depth of 5 metres – during which we’ll practise hand signals and breathing techniques and try to spot the local marine life , including crabs, stingrays, sardines, cuttlefish, mullet, mullet and, at certain times of year, even dolphins, anemones and nudibranchs. The dive will last 30–40 minutes.

Once back on the surface, we can relax with a spot of diving and snorkelling, enjoy a few snacks or sunbathe before heading back. We’ll return to the starting point after around two and a half hours of activities.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for those aged 10 and over; for younger children, a consent form signed by their parents is required.

To take part, you must be in good health. The activity is strongly discouraged for pregnant women and people with epilepsy or diabetes. Furthermore, it is not permitted for anyone who has undergone surgery in the last 6 months.
