Full description
Wind in the sails towards adventure! Have you ever dreamed of sailing the sea and feeling the wind inflate your sails?
Join us for an introductory day of cabin cruiser sailing in the beautiful Gulf of Arzachena, a stone's throw from theMaddalena Archipelago.
Together with an instructor and a crew of aspiring sailors, you will learn the basics of this discipline and take turns manoeuvring with the rest of thecrew. Get ready to set sail!
What we will do
The rendezvous will be 15 minutes before 9 a.m. at Isuledda di Arzachena (SS).
Our instructor will welcome us and take us aboard the First 211, a cabin cruiser perfect for approaching sailing. Before we cast off our moorings, we will have an overview of the main parts of the boat and their use, so as to familiarise ourselves with the tools of navigation.
Once at sea, we'll get right into the swing of things: we'll learn how to recognise wind direction, steer the boat with the helm and interact with the sails to control the course. Under the guidance of the instructor, we will put the notions we have learned into practice, trying to steer and perform simple manoeuvres in total safety.
We will sail in the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Arzachena, right in front of theMaddalena Archipelago, enjoying the sea from a unique perspective. In the middle of the day we will take a break for lunch (not included): we can have our packed lunch on board or stop at a beach that can be reached by boat, depending on weather conditions and the preferences of the group.
In the afternoon we will continue sailing, putting into practice the manoeuvres we have learnt. We will return to port by 18:00, concluding the day with a brief recap of the experience before saying goodbye.
The activity will last a total of 9 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for ages 14 and up. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult at the meeting point, but can do the activity on their own.
Good mobility and a minimum of water skills are required to participate.
Other information
The activity takes place from June to October and is confirmed with a minimum of three participants.
Lessons take place on a 6.40-metre First 211 cabin cruiser.
Showers and toilets are available at the meeting point, and personal belongings can be left in the care of the staff.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport; parking is available on site for a fee.
