Come to Arbatax for an introductory sailing lesson and learn the basics of sailing with the help of an instructor. After 30 minutes of theory, you’ll move on to the practical part and try your hand at trimming the sails according to the wind, tacking and jibing, and taking the helm.
Get ready: it’s your chance to become a sea dog!
What we will do
We’ll meet at the time indicated at the meeting point in Arbatax (NU).The instructor who will be leading the lesson will be there to welcome us.
Once we’ve boarded an 8. 30-metre cabin sailing yacht, we’ll spend about 30 minutes on the theory part whilst moored in the harbour. The instructor will explain the basics of sailing: the different points of sail, wind direction, how the sails work, the allocation of roles and how to handle the helm.
Once the theory session is over, we’ll cast off and head out to the open sea. It’ll be time to put everything we’ve just learnt into practice during around two and a half hours of sailing amongst the waves.
Under the careful guidance of our skipper, we’ll take centre stage: we’ll learn how to hoist and trim the sails in different points of sail and experience the thrill of manoeuvring the boat ourselves, carrying out tacks and gybes.
At the end of the session, we’ll return to the starting point, delighted with everything we’ve learnt!
The activity will last a total of 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is suitable for children aged 8 and over; those under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
This experience is not accessible to wheelchair users and/or people with reduced mobility.
Other information
The activity takes place from June to September.
The vessel used is a cabin sailing boat, 8. 30 m in length. Closed-toe shoes are required on board, preferably with white soles.
Dogs are not permitted on board.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
