Full description
Discover the Cinque Terre from a completely new perspective: from the sea, by kayak! This tour will take you along the coast of Monterosso al Mare, past impressive cliffs, terraces and hidden caves.
Paddling in theMarine Protected Area together with a guide, you will explore corners of the coast only accessible by sea, far from the crowds and totally immersed in nature.
Three hours of fun, adventure, lyrical panoramas, stories to discover and, why not, even a refreshing swim await you!
What we will do
We will meet in Monterosso al Mare (SP), 10 minutes before the departure time. Our guide will give an introductory briefing of about 20 minutes to explain the route, safety notions and give some practical tips on paddling.
After donning our life jackets and climbing into our double kayaks, we will be ready to go. We will begin our adventure paddling along the coast between Monterosso and Vernazza. After passing the first inlets, we will admire some sea caves and pass by a small waterfall that plunges straight into the sea.
Along the way, the guide will tell us the history of the Cinque Terre, illustrating the ingenuity of the terracing and the geological conformation of the coast. If conditions permit, we can also stop for a dip in the sea, taking advantage of a moment of relaxation before resuming the tour.
From the kayak we will have the opportunity to observe Torre Aurora and the Capuchin Convent, two historical landmarks of Monterosso. Depending on the physical capabilities of the group, we will either go as far as Vernazza to enjoy the view of the village directly from the water, or we will do a slightly shorter stretch before starting the return to Monterosso. The route will be about 8 km long.
The experience will last a total of 3 hours, including the briefing.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for ages 7 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Swimming skills are recommended.
The weight per participant must not exceed 130 kg.

The tour runs all year round and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 persons.
A space is available at the meeting point for changing and leaving personal belongings. There is a public shower on the neighbouring beach.
Dogs are not allowed to take part in this activity.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport (Monterosso al Mare train station 5 minutes away); there is a pay car park on site.
