Full description
Come and join us for aninvigorating and unusual experience for a big city like Naples: together with a guide, you will discover the city's main tourist attractions from the perspective of the sea by paddling across the Bay of Naples in a kayak.
You will move over the calm waters of the sea, breathing in its salty scent and letting the morning breeze caress you as the sun peeps into the sky.
An evocative excursion to greet the waking city and to discover curious anecdotes about the monuments overlooking the sea. You will not miss a stop on the beach to have breakfast with some local delicacies: after all, you are in Naples, how can you resist the temptation of food!
What we will do
The appointment is at the meeting point in Naples at dawn (the time varies depending on the time of year you choose to do the experience). I will welcome you and, before boarding the kayak, we will explain some basics about kayaking and paddling technique. The lesson will last approximately 30 minutes.
Once the briefing is over, we will board the kayak. We will paddle on the calm waters of the Gulf of Naples and follow an itinerary that passes elegant villas and majestic palaces such as Palazzo Donn'Anna, Villa Martinelli, Villa Volpicelli, Villa Rosebery, Villa Maria Pia, Palazzo degli Spiriti and Villa Imperiale.
As I pass among you on the SUP I will tell you many stories and curiosities about the sights we will encounter. In front of Villa Lauro, we will go down to the beach to rest and enjoy our well-deserved breakfast of fruit juice, coffee and croissant. We will be able to relax as the sun slowly gets higher and higher.
We will also pass a number of natural wonders including the Gaiola Underwater Park with its two islets jutting out a few metres off the Posillipo coast and the Bay of Trentaremi, a treasure trove of beauty surrounded by nature. We will pass by the Grotta Romana, the Baia del Cenito and the Pietra Salata rock , which enjoys a privileged view of Posillipo.
The experience lasts a total of 2 hours, including about 1½ hours of touring, and will end at the point where we will have met.
Who it is aimed at
The tour is suitable for everyone from 8 years of age; children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Swimming skills are required to participate in the experience.
Other information
The experience takes place from April to November and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 4 participants.
The itinerary may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.
At the meeting point there is a changing room with a shower and a guarded locker where you can leave your belongings. You will, however, have a watertight bag to store any personal belongings you wish to take with you on the tour.
The centre has both single and double kayaks available.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
