Full description
If you think kites are 'children's games', it's because you've never tried kitesurfing!
In Dervio, on the shores of Lake Como, you will discover for the first time how much fun it can be to be pulled by a kite over water by taking part in a basic kitesurfing course, during which an instructor will teach you all the secrets of this fascinating water sport.
A complete experience , where you will go from theory to practice in just 3 hours!
What we will do
The appointment is at 11:00 a.m. at the meeting point in Dervio (LC). Upon arrival we will be welcomed by theinstructor who will follow us in this first kitesurfing experience!
The course will begin with a first theoretical part of about 1 hour during which we will learn the rules for practising kitusurfing safely and we will be given a general introduction to this discipline.
Once the first phase is over, it will finally be time to move from words to deeds! We will reach the centre of the lake by dinghy, on board of which theinstructor will show us how to handle the kite. We will take turns doing a practical simulation, after which we will prepare to enter the water.
One at a time, we will try the technique of'body drag', i.e. being dragged across the surface of the water without a board, learning how to exploit the buoyancy generated by the kite. Afterwards, we will also do some practice on the board to learn how to handle the first starts and falls. During the experience we will be able to communicate with the instructor via the transceiver attached to the helmet.
We will then return to the meeting point. The experience will last a total of 3 hours, including 2 hours of practice in the water.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for ages 14 and up; children under 18 must have authorisation or be accompanied by an adult at the meeting point.
The activity is not suitable for people with mobility problems.
Swimming skills are required to carry out the experience.
The experience is of an easy level and suitable for first-time kitesurfers.
Other information
The activity takes place from May to September.
There is free and/or paid parking in the vicinity of the meeting point. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
There are no changing rooms on site. Personal items may be brought on board the dinghy.
