An experience for the curious and lovers of sailing. Everyone really enjoys our lessons!
Who wouldn't like to be a captain for a day? This is what it feels like to actively participate in life on board: a sailing instructor will teach you how to trim sails, hold the helm and other sailing practices.
A 2½-hour experience sailing from one shore of Lake Maggiore to the other.
What we will do
I will be waiting for you at the selected time at the meeting point in Castelletto sopra Ticino (NO). I am your sailing instructor and I will welcome you into my world! Or rather, I will welcome you aboard my boat: a Hobie Cat 15 light catamaran , 5 metres long and 3 metres wide, equipped with an awning.
But the sailing lesson will begin even before boarding with the preparation of the boat: I will teach you how to rig the boat and how to get in and out of the water. Once on board, you will learn how to trim the sails and hold the rudder. You will experience the thrill of being at the helm, thanks to instruction tailored to the experience level of each participant.
Everything takes place in the beautiful natural setting of Lake Maggiore, starting from the Piedmont coast and reaching the Lombardy coast at Ispra. In the course of the navigation, we will be able to admire the always picturesque Borromean Islands and, depending on the weather conditions of the day, we will then venture north towards Stresa and Baveno or towards Arona.
We will finally return to the meeting point for an experience lasting a total of two and a half hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone from the age of 8; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at embarkation.
The boat is not wheelchair accessible.
Other information
The experience takes place from March to December.
The meeting point is easily accessible by public transport.
Thestart time of the experience may vary depending on the weather/wind conditions at the organiser's discretion; you will be contacted by the organiser about this.
You will remain barefoot on board the boat; footwear will be put back on board.
A maximum of 1 dog is allowed on board; the dog must be accustomed to water and wearing socks.
