Full description

Delicious in every way: let’s talk about her, Her Majesty Polenta!

If, like us, you love it too, here’s a mountain refuge that features it as the star of this tasting menu, based on traditional mountain dishes from the Stura Valley.

Whether it’s concia-style, with ragù or with mushrooms: the important thing is to enjoy it piping hot, just as tradition dictates!

What we will do

The meeting point is at the Ferrere mountain refuge, in the hamlet of Argentera (CN), set against the stunning natural backdrop of the Stura Valley.

You will be welcomed by the staff and shown to your table to begin your lunch of traditional dishes, prepared with passion and respect for tradition.

The tasting menu will consist of the following:

  • Salami with bread, butter and homemade pickled vegetables
  • Polenta with two sauces (one cheese-based and one meat-based, or, on request, a vegetable ragù made with lentils)
  • A dessert of the house’s choice

The children’s menu (for children up to 12 years old) includes: tagliatelle with ragù or a half portion of polenta and a dessert.

After lunch, you can relax outside the mountain hut or set off along one of the many hiking trails in the area.

Who it is aimed at

This experience is ideal for groups of friends, families or couples. For children up to the age of 12, a children’s menu is available at €10. 00 per person.

Other information

The mountain hut is open from mid-June to October.

If you have any allergies and/or intolerances, or if you would like a vegetarian or vegan menu, please contact the refuge to let them know your dietary requirements.

Dogs are allowed inside the mountain hut.

The refuge can be reached on foot or by car; a return shuttle service is available on request for €5. 00 per person, with the outward journey in the morning and the return journey in the afternoon: please contact the refuge for further information.
