If you’d like to meet the people who have made this legendary fortified winean Italian icon around the world, come and visit the Florio Cellars in Marsala.
A fascinating journey through oak barrels and historic cellars, culminating in a guided tasting where you can choose between a vertical tasting of 4 glasses or a complete sensory experience of 7 glasses, both complemented by exquisite local gourmet pairings!
What we will do
The tour takes place at the selected time at Cantine Florio in Marsala, in the province of Trapani, set against the stunning coastal backdrop of western Sicily.
We will be welcomed by our guide, who will take us on a fascinating 45-minute tour of the historic winery, revealing the cultural, historical and production processes that have made the Florio family famous from 1833 to the present day.
The guided tour will wind its way through the majestic barrel cellars, including the Cantina Garibaldi, where the ageing process imparts unique, briny and fresh notes to the wines. Here, the guide will explain the evolution of this creative process and the agronomic philosophy behind what is described as a true ‘cultural wine’: Marsala.
Afterwards, we will take our seats for the tasting, with a choice of two purchase options:
- a tasting of 4 wines: this includes a selection focusing on 4 glasses of Marsala Vergine Riserva from the Classic, Premium and Exclusive ranges, characterised by profiles ranging from notes of broom and yellow flowers to evolving hints of menthol, black tea and liquorice. All this will be accompanied by four selected food pairings.
- 7-wine tasting: a comprehensive experience featuring a tasting of no fewer than 7 glasses. In addition to the 4 Vergine Riserva wines, you will sample three varieties of Marsala Superiore Riserva Semisecco ( Classic, Premium and Exclusive) , rich in nuances of custard, vanilla, bitter cocoa and nougat. This option includes seven gourmet food pairings designed to bring out every nuance.
The experience will last a total of 1½ hours for the 4-glass option, or 2½ hours for the 7-glass option.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for those aged 18 and over. The wine tasting is restricted to adults only; minors are not permitted to take part in this specific experience. Bookings are open to small groups, with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 12 participants per session.
The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Small dogs are permitted inside the winery, provided they are carried in your arms or kept in their own carrier for the entire duration of the activity.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
