Driving a husky sled is not just a job: it is a little magic. There is the silence of the snow, six glances waiting for your nod and, a moment later, the ride begins.
In Sestriere you can become a musher for a day, together with real instructors and a husky pack!
You prepare the equipment, set up the lines, get to know the dogs and then run through the snowy forests of the Upper Susa Valley. And at the end you realise that you have not just experienced an adventure, but have become part of something special.
What we will do
The appointment is at around 8. 30 a. m. at the meeting point in Sestriere, where we will be welcomed by the instructors. After the coffee break, we will start with the preparation of the dogs and material for the excursions: morning food, cleaning the camp, checking the lines and distributing the roles.
We will actively participate in the management of the crews and, together with the professional mushers, we will carry out the daily sled outing. We will also be able to drive one, experiencing first-hand the magic of dog sledding through snowy forests and trails.
During the day we will listen to advice from the professionals, learn how to run a pack of dogs and discover every secret of life as a musher. Lunch (included) in the chalet will be an opportunity to chat and share anecdotes with the team.
In the afternoon, between a second sledding trip (not always guaranteed, depending on the day's programme) and looking after the dogs, we will take part in setting up camp: we will brush the huskies, give them some cuddles, tidy up their equipment and help them with their evening meal.
The day will end around 17: 30/18: 00, with the feeling of having experienced something rare and authentic. The total duration will be about 9 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone, 12 years and older. Minors must be accompanied by a participating adult.
To participate, you must be in good health and have no walking difficulties.
The activity is not suitable for pregnant women or for people with heart or respiratory problems; in the case of diabetes or other illnesses, we ask you to let us know at the time of booking so that the instructors can assess safe participation together.

The activity is bookable from December to April, excluding holidays.

The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
Would you like to participate with your Husky? It is possible! You can take part in the experience together with your dog for an additional fee of €40 per person or €50 per couple. During the day, your husky will also experience the activity as a protagonist: he will go sledding with you and, if he is used to the work, he can be included in the instructor's team, subject to the team's assessment of his fitness. The dog will have to follow the same rules as the wetsuit throughout the day, including meal times.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
