Full description
A lake that lights up in the dark: what magic is this?
Come and discover it on Lake Fondi, with a kayak tour that will take you paddling under the stars.
In the company of an instructor and a guide, you will discover the most curious local stories, observe the constellations and, if you are lucky, witness a unique spectacle: the bioluminescence of the lake!
What we will do
We will meet 10 minutes before the indicated time in Fondi (LT), where we will be welcomed by thekayak instructor and guide who will accompany us on this tour.
The excursion will be preceded by a 45-60 minute briefing, during which equipment and kayaks will be assigned. This will be followed by a kayaking lesson both on land and in the water, so as to become familiar with the craft.
Once ready, we will set off on our overnight tour. Paddling on the calm waters of Lake Fondi, we will make several stops to listen to the stories of the local guide, who will reveal the history and legends of this place. Meanwhile, the kayak instructor will guide us in observing the sky, pointing out stars and constellations.
If we are lucky, we will also be able to admire the bioluminescence of the lake: a natural phenomenon that occurs thanks to the ability of certain microorganisms in the water to emit light through chemical reactions. This spectacle will fill the lake with tiny dots of light as we paddle: real magic in the dark of night!
After paddling between 4 and 5 km, we will return to the starting point. The activity will last a total of about 5 hours, of which 3 hours will be spent in the water.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable from the age of 4. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Swimming skills are required to participate.
The maximum weight is 95 kg and height must not exceed 1.90 metres.
Other information
The activity takes place from May to September, from Friday to Sunday, and is confirmed with a minimum number of 10 people.
Changing rooms, showers, toilets and a bar are available at the meeting point. A deposit of €5 is required on site for the waterproof bag, which will be returned at the end of the tour.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport; there is free parking on site.
Dogs are not allowed to participate in this activity.
