Fantasia, Nedda, Selene, Velata and Dida: these are the names of the women protagonists of Sicilian literature, chosen by the Baglio DiAr winery for its labels. It could not be otherwise for this winery owned by the Di Girolamo family, located in the heart of Marsala.
In the company of a dedicated guide, you will visit the winery and learn more about the production of certified organic wine. This will be followed by a tasting of 3 to 5 glasses (to be chosen at the time of booking): the perfect culmination of this all-Sicilian experience!
What we will do
We’ll meet 10 minutes before the selected time at the Baglio DiAr winery in Marsala (TP). We’ll meet at the shop, where a member of the winery staff will welcome us.
Once all participants have gathered, we’ll head to the winery: here we’ll discover how the estate’s organic wines are produced , from the grape harvest to processing, as we walk through the ageing rooms with stainless steel tanks and oak barrels.
We will then proceed to the room where the tasting will take place: here we will watch a video on the history of the winery, followed by a presentation of the winery’s wines . Baglio DiAr cultivates native grape varieties such as Grillo, Inzolia, Catarratto, Zibibbo, Nero d’Avola and Perricone. Equally distinctive are the names of the wines, inspired by the female protagonists of Sicilian literature: Fantasia, Nedda, Selene, Lia and Dida.
The tasting consists of 3 or 5 glasses of organic wines, accompanied by water and taralli:
- Selene Organic Grillo Bianco DOC Sicilia
- Dida Organic Catarratto Bianco IGP Terre Siciliane (only in the 5-glass tasting)
- Fantasia Organic Zibibbo Bianco IGP Terre Siciliane
- Nedda Organic Nero d’Avola Red DOC Sicilia ( in the 5-glass tasting)
- Lia Organic Nero d’Avola Rosé DOC Sicilia (only in the 5-glass tasting)
Each glass will be carefully described by the tasting host: vintages, organoleptic notes and characteristics. All wines have been produced using certified organic viticulture for over 20 years! In addition, our own unfiltered organic extra virgin olive oil will be served with crostini made from durum wheat bread.
The 3-wine tasting is estimated to last approximately 1 hour, whilst the 5-wine tasting is estimated to last approximately 1½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone with no age limit. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The wine tasting is reserved for participants over 18 years of age only. Minors can take part in the experience free of charge: please contact the winery at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to report the presence of minors and request the availability of non-alcoholic drinks.
The point of sale where the tasting takes place is wheelchair-accessible, while the winery is not.

A non-private car park is available nearby. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
