It has three wheels and a distinctly Italian charm.
We’re talking about the Ape Calessino, the iconic three-wheeler that will take you on a 2-hour guided tour of the historic squares, elegant palaces and iconic landmarks of Alba, in the heart of the Langhe.
By the end of the day, it’ll be hard to say which has won you over more: Alba or the Ape Calessino.
What we will do
The meeting point is in the centre of Alba (CN) at the time selected when you made your booking, where your guide will welcome you and help you board the Ape Calessino to begin your tour of the city.
The first stop will be the Alba Courthouse, before continuing on to Piazza Pertinace, one of the city’s oldest squares, where you can discover Alba’s Roman origins.
You’ll continue to Piazza Duomo, the heart of the historic centre, dominated by the Cathedral of San Lorenzo and surrounded by elegant medieval buildings. You’ll then reach the Cortile della Maddalena, now a venue for events and festivals that showcase the city’s culinary and wine culture.
The tour will continue to Piazza Michele Ferrero, named after the entrepreneur who made Alba famous worldwide, before concluding at the Beppe Fenoglio Study Centre, a landmark dedicated to the writer who, more than any other, has chronicled these lands.
During the tour, the guide will share stories, anecdotes and interesting facts about the town and its local culture. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours in total.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is very strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 31 days from the activity start date. Within 30 and 15 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
