Heidi would have loved this picnic!
At this farmhouse in the Crete Senesi, you’ll get to meet the farm animals (including the ever-present little goats) before relaxing amongst the vineyards or the surrounding woods whilst enjoying a basket full of local specialities.
To top it all off, there’ll also be a bottle of wine for a toast with your friends!
What we will do
The tour starts at the selected time at the meeting point in Monteroni d’Arbia (SI) , set against the backdrop of the spectacular Crete Senesi.
On arrival, we’ll be welcomed by our guide, who’ll take us on a tour of the farm. Together with her, we’ll get to know the goats, cows, ducks and hens, as well as the horses that roam freely across the farm’s open spaces.
At the end of the tour, we’ll be given our picnic basket containing:
- Seasonal vegetables from the vegetable patch
- Local cured meats and cheeses
- Cold pasta
- Homemade dessert (such as a tart or homemade cantucci)
- 1 bottle of red or rosé wine produced by the estate
We’ll also have a blanket available to spread out amongst the vineyards – the ideal spot for a picnic at sunset – or we can choose to sit at the wooden tables in the woods to shelter from the sun during the hottest part of the day.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
