As the sun sets behind the rows of vines, casting a red glow over the hills, you’ll be sitting at at the top of a vineyard with stunning views, a glass of wine in hand!
Join us for this sunset picnic in the Oltrepò Pavese and let your gaze wander from Montalto Pavese Castle to the majestic silhouette of Monte Rosa.
Choose your favourite picnic option, and let yourself be charmed by the flavours and warm hospitality of Podere Bignolino!
What we will do
The event takes place at the selected time at the Podere Bignolino winery in Montalto Pavese (PV). On arrival, we will be welcomed by the Contardi family’s staff, who will show us to the picnic areas overlooking the hills of the Oltrepò Pavese.
When booking, we can choose between two different options, depending on how much comfort we’d like:
- a picnic on the ground amongst the vine rows ( €30 per person) : at the spot, we’ll find a blanket to sit on and a lamp to light up our spot in the vineyard; the basket will include 1 bottle of wine of your choice, water and local nibbles
- Picnic with a set-up table ( €50 per person) : in this case, the spot will be set up with a low table and rugs for greater comfort; the basket will include 1 bottle of Metodo Classico or Cruasè, or three glasses of wine of your choice, water and a generous selection of local specialities to accompany it.
From this panoramic vantage point, we can enjoy the spectacle of the sunset illuminating Montalto Pavese Castle, and on the clearest days even catch a glimpse of Monte Rosa in the distance.
The experience will last approximately 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The wine tasting is for adults only.
A reduced rate is available for children or accompanying adults who do not drink alcohol. Alternative drinks such as water or Coca-Cola are included for them.
The event is also accessible to pushchairs and wheelchair users.
Other information
The experience is available from May to September and requires a minimum of two participants to be confirmed.

The estate offers free parking reserved for guests, but there is no public transport service to the estate.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is very flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
