Full description

Book your own boat and enjoy a two-hour sail along the beautiful Syracuse coastline. You will sail along the coastline, dotted with numerous caves and hidden coves.

The boat will then head towards the island of Ortigia, whose beauty you can admire from a marine perspective. You will enjoy views of the Spanish walls, the Swabian fortress of Maniace, and the Arethusa Spring.

The tour includes a swim stop in one of the most beautiful bays on the Syracuse coast: the Pillirina beach, 'pilgrim' in Syracuse dialect. Are you ready to go?

What we will do

We will meet at the small port of Syracuse, where our boat is docked. Once we have taken our seats, we will set off on our private tour of the Syracuse coastline.

The boat will take us along the coastline with its cliffs that form true natural sculptures. We will discover the many caves that characterise the coast, such as the suggestive cave of love, with its heart-shaped opening.

We will then push on to the Plemmirio Reserve, to take a swim in the enchanting setting of the Pillirina beach. Legend has it that the beach was the refuge of two young lovers, he a fisherman and she a young woman from a wealthy family. When the lover did not return from a fishing trip, the poor girl decided to rejoin him by throwing herself into the sea, thus transforming the bay into a legendary place.

Snorkelling masks will be available on board foruse during the bathing stop, and water, prosecco or wine for a toast in company.

Returning to Syracuse we will circumnavigate the pearl of the city: the Island of Ortigia, connected to the mainland by two bridges. We will admire its architectural beauty, from the Spanish walls to the Maniace Castle and the Arethusa Spring. The boat will then sail under the Ponte Santa Lucia bridge and the romantic Ponte Umberto bridge with its wrought-iron lampposts dating back to the 19th century, until we return to the embarkation pier.

The entire tour lasts a total of two hours.
