Full description
The fire that moulds glass and the silence that reigns over the water: two souls of Venice encapsulated in a single experience.
With this 3-hour private boat tour , you will visit theisland of Murano, the thousand-year-old cradle of the art of glass blowing, and then be enveloped in the tranquillity of the Certosa, a green and peaceful island in the heart of the lagoon.
An excursion that combines art, history and nature, ideal for those who wish to discover themost authentic soul of the Serenissima!
What we will do
The appointment is at the indicated time at the meeting point in Venice. Awaiting you will be your skipper, ready to accompany you on this exclusive tour.
You will depart by boat from Le Zattere and sail across the lagoon to Murano, world-famous for its glass-making tradition. Here you will visit a glass furnace, where master glassblowers will show you the ancient working technique that transforms sand through fire into unique works of art. Your stop in Murano will last approximately 45 minutes.
You will then re-board to head towards the island of Lazzaretto Vecchio, a historic place that gave rise to the concept of 'quarantine' in the Middle Ages. Finally you will reach Certosa Island, an oasis of peace surrounded by lagoon vegetation, which in ancient times housed an Augustinian and Carthusian monastery.
Throughout the navigation the skipper will tell you curiosities and stories about the places you pass through, allowing you to discover a face of Venice that is off the classic tourist routes.
You will finally return to your starting point. The activity will last a total of 3 hours.
