Full description

Have fun with your friends on a mountain bike tour on the Sellaronda, the famous hiking route in the heart of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You will ride more than 50 km on wonderful mountain bike trails and paths specially designed for mountain bikes. You will immerse yourself in the unique scenery of Trentino Alto Adige's most beautiful valleys and peaks, where you will be able to let off steam in complete freedom, following the precious indications of an expert guide.

You will reach the most panoramic points by cable car and then launch yourself downhill to enjoy the adrenaline rush. A fantastic idea to celebrate aspecial occasion or simply to spend a day of sport and fun in the midst of nature!

What we will do

The route starts in Selva di Val Gardena, in the province of Bolzano, where you will meet the guide who will accompany you on the adventure. Mountain bike in hand (you can use your own bike or rent one in one of the many shops in the village at an average price of €50 for the whole day), you will take the Dantercepies cable car.

Near the station you will encounter the first descent, a single trail leading to the Gardena Pass, and then continue on to the Campolongo Pass. You will find yourself in the heart of the Dolomites and, between flowing trails, adrenaline-filled descents and cable car ascents, you will arrive at the most spectacular vantage point of the tour, from where you can admire the icy peaks of the Marmolada and Lake Fedaia.

Here you will face a particularly demanding descent and then, from the Pordoi Pass, you will take a long trail that will take you to the village of Canazei, where you can stop to catch your breath and have something to eat. Then, with another cable car ride, you will reach the Sella Pass, the last of the four Sellaronda passes, and from here, via a trail at the foot of the Sassolungo, you will return to the starting point in Selva di Val Gardena.

The route is 58 km long. The difference in altitude on the ascent will be just over 300 m, while the descent will be much longer at 3900 m. The duration depends on the level of the participants, but it is good to consider the commitment of a full day, on average 8 hours.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an intermediate level. It is necessary to know how to ride a MTB on easy dirt terrain, be able to cope with descents and have a minimum of aerobic endurance. For the less fit, it is advisable to rent an electric MTB. More experienced bikers can choose a more demanding route variant (please inform the guide after booking).

Participation is possible from the age of 16. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

It is possible to rent e-motorbikes and mtb's at the shops in Selva di Val Gardena at a price of approximately €50.
