Climb aboard an off-road vehicle and enjoy a private tour in the lush Is Cannoneris forest in south-western Sardinia.
As you travel in the company of a local guide, admire the holm oaks and the wilderness of the nature reserve where donkeys and sheep, as well as many other wild animals such as deer, mouflon, eagles and wild boar, find a home.
Get into the heart of Sardinian tradition by tasting the typical snack sa picchettada with the best of local products and don't forget your camera!
What we will do
We will meet in Chia, a hamlet of Domus de Maria, near the harbour (if necessary, you can request a pick-up service at your residence in the Chia area).
We will head into the Is Cannoneris forest to observe the beauty of this Sardinian nature reserve, which at its highest point reaches 979 metres above sea level. During the 4x4 tour, we will be able to observe some of the reserve's most important species such as deer, eagles, mouflon and wild boar.
The route also includes a visit to the nuraghi, the ancient stone constructions typical of Sardinia. The guide will describe everything in detail, making the experience fun for all age groups. To fully experience the adventure, we will have to roll down the window and let the fresh air caress us as we closely observe the donkeys, sheep and goats that populate the reserve. Of course, we can also get out to observe nature up close and take a stroll through the greenery.
At the end, the typical Sardinian snack of'sa picchettada' with the best of local products will be waiting for us. The activity will last about four hours in total and will end with the return to the meeting point.

This activity can be carried out all year round and is reserved for private groups of a maximum of five people.
The tour takes place even in the event of rain, with the exception of particularly bad weather conditions.
For those living in the Chia area, it is possible to request a pick-up and drop-off service free of charge. Otherwise, you will meet directly at the meeting point.
Subject to the guide's availability, it is possible to agree on a different departure time.
