Prepare to be breathless with aprivate speleological excursion to the Equi Caves!
Explore caves that are world-famous for their huge formations, shafts and peculiar colourations.
Don't miss out on this fascinating 3-hour experience between via ferrata and Tibetan bridges.
What we will do
The appointment, 10 minutes earlier than the time selected at the time of booking, is at Equi Terme, a splendid village-community in the northern heart of the Apuan Alps Regional Park-Global Geopark Unesco.
Your guide will be waiting for you. After a briefing of about 30 minutes on the route and the use of the equipment, you will be ready to set off with your private group!
At first you will approach some karstic caves shaped over millions of years by the action of water, which, penetrating the fractures in the limestone, has formed shafts, tunnels and underground lakes.
From here, guided by the expert, you will begin the caving route (total length 350 m) between via ferratas, Tibetan bridges in the beautiful dark caves, illuminated only by the light of our head torch. Along the approx. 2 ½-hour route, you can admire very large limestone formations, shafts and peculiar colourations, which are only visible on this excursion.
This route is unique in Italy and will allow you to put on the shoes of a real speleologist with harness and lanyard for a fall protection system, helmet with headlamp and gloves. The excursion will last 3 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone over the age of 10. The minimum height to participate in the activity is 140 cm and a weight between 20 kg and 120 kg.
No special skills are required, as long as you are in good physical and mental shape and do not have heart problems or other illnesses that may limit your abilities. The activity is forbidden for pregnant women and strongly discouraged for those suffering from vertigo or claustrophobia.
Minors must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Other information
The activity takes place all year round, weather permitting. In fact, there is a karstic spring at the entrance to the cave which, in the event of a flood, makes the activity unfeasible.
The temperature inside the cave is stable at around 10 degrees. It is therefore recommended to bring a sweatshirt or jacket, even during the summer period.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
