Explore by quad bike one of the most fascinating areas of the entire Etnean territory, the Alcantara Valley, with its evocative lava gorges and unique scenery.
On board the 4-wheel vehicle you will move between the volcanic canyon, theriverbed and the valley floor full of woods and orchards, for an experience of discovery, excitement and fun.
The Alcantara River Park is waiting to show you one of the many marvellous sides of Sicily, made up of intense perfumes, vivid colours, millenary history and extraordinary landscapes.
What we will do
We will set off from the Alcantara Gorge in Motta Camastra (ME) and after a short briefing on the use of the quad bikes and safety regulations, we will start moving in the direction of the town of Francavilla di Sicilia on dirt tracks, which are very fun to tackle with the 4x4 vehicle.
During the2½-hour excursion , we will admire a variety of natural scenery, all highly suggestive. TheAlcantara riverbed is a site of great geological and natural interest, created by volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago. The famous Alcantara Gorges, in fact, are the result of the 'encounter' between the two elements and, specifically, theerosion of solidifiedmagmatic masses due to the incessant flow of water.
Near Francavilla, we will make a stop at the Convent of the Capuchin Friars, a place on the slopes of Etna that has stood the test of time, where one can still breathe in the atmosphere and spirituality of the monks of the 16th century. After this plunge into history, we will reach a bridge to admire a wonderful panoramic view of the river and the entire valley, and finally return to our starting point.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is of an easy level. All holders of a B licence can participate. Children from 3 years of age and up can also board the quad bike as passengers.
The maximum load limit for quads is 180 kg.
Other information
This activity can be carried out all year round. You must arrive at the meeting place at least 15 minutes in advance.
Important: the participation fee is per quad. If you book a quad bike, you can take a passenger with you free of charge, with the possibility of alternating driving.
It is possible to bring your four-legged friend on board the quad. Alternatively, you can leave it at the centre, where fresh water will be available, and retrieve it at the end of the experience.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
