Full description
Are you a nature and adventure lover? Then our one-and-a-half-hour quad bike tour in the Majella National Park is just the thing for you! On board a modern and safe four-wheel vehicle, you will visit the wonders of a park rich in biodiversity and wildlife.
Thanks to a local guide, you will also have the opportunity to learn about the history of Majella and Valle Giumentina. In fact, the area is known for its Palaeolithic archaeological excavation site, one of the oldest in Europe, with particular structures, the dry stone huts.
It will be an unforgettableexcursion that will remain etched in your memory. What are you waiting for to get on board?
What we will do
The meeting with the guide is in Abbateggio (PE), near the gravel road leading to Valle Giumentina. On arrival, we will have a short briefing, in which the operation of the quad bike will be explained to us. Afterwards, we will take a test ride to get familiar with the vehicle.
Now the adventure begins! We will have the opportunity to ride on scenic and picturesque trails, admiring beech forests and valleys.
We will drive into the heart of the Valle Giumentina, coming into contact with nature and the local fauna. There will be no shortage of stops, during which we will be able to chat with the guide or admire the archaeological excavations dating back to the Palaeolithic period.
We will see various finds and the famous dry stone huts of Tholos, built by shepherds and farmers in the 19th century. The guide will accompany us during the excursion with many stories and curiosities about this fascinating place.
We will cover a total of 20 km, most of which will be on a dirt road. The activity lasts a total of about one and a half hours and ends with the return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
The tour is suitable for everyone over the age of 6.
To ride the quad bike you must be at least 18 years old and have a B licence.
Other information
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time.
The excursion can be booked all year round, weather permitting.
Important: The cost of 80€ is per quad. Each quad bike can carry one driver and one passenger (with the possibility of swapping driving). There are 4 quads available for a maximum of 8 participants.
The excursion takes place on roads where the transit of motor vehicles is authorised, in compliance with the Park's rules on environmental protection and conservation. For this reason too, we will ride the quad bike at a low speed. If the Park rules are not respected, the guide has the right to interrupt the activity.
We recommend that you bring your own helmet, if you have one. If not, it will be provided to you by the organisation.
It is not permitted to ride the quad bike with your dog.
