Full description

Immerse yourself in the nature of the Valtellina and learn to dominate the rushing waters of the Adda River with a paddle, tackle the rapids of the river and push yourself into the most inaccessible corners aboard a kayak.

With a course of 5 private 2-hour lessons with a dedicated FICK instructor, you will have the opportunity to learn quickly and focus on your specific objective, whether it be learning the basics, technical consolidation, perfecting or studying advanced manoeuvres.

The course is aimed at kayakers of all levels, from beginners to advanced, with customised programmes and a method designed to accelerate the learning curve as much as possible.

What we will do

The river kayaking course in Valtellina consists of a total of 10 hours of lessons with a dedicated FICK instructor, to be divided into 5 lessons (or 4, depending on requirements). Each lesson begins at the sports centre in Castione Andevenno (SO ) with a meeting with the instructor and the handover ofequipment. After that, you reach the boarding point, carry out the theoretical part and then enter the water to practice.

The course covers three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. But which one should you choose?

Level 1: beginners

This is the course suitable for beginners, i.e. those who have never set foot in a canoe or kayak, or those who have practised sporadically as self-taught paddlers. Basic techniques will be learnt, a symbiosis between student and boat will be sought, and autonomy in flat water navigation will be acquired. Then, during the last lesson, there will be a current baptism to experience the thrill of rough waters.

2nd level: intermediates

The second level is dedicated to kayakers who have a good familiarity with flat water navigation and a fair amount of experience on grade II and III rapids. The aim of the course is to perfect the fundamentals (in both flat and rough waters) and to acquire the main self-saving manoeuvre in a canoe and kayak: theeskimo. This involves righting the boat after a capsize, without abandoning the position.

3rd level: advanced

This is the final level of the course and is reserved for those who have mastered kayaking on rapids up to grade III. The aim is to perfect all the techniques acquired and achieve a level of confidence that allows them to combine them and enhance performance, even on rapids of the highest grade.

Who it is aimed at

This course is aimed at kayakers of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Good water skills and aminimum age of 12 years are required.
