Full description
Have you ever dreamed of feeling like Robin Hood, bow in hand and free spirit?
With this 2½-hour experience in the province of Arezzo, you can follow in the footsteps of the most famous gentleman bandit ever! In fact, you will spend time in the midst of nature and in contact with animals with a visit to a farm, and then try your hand at traditional archery!
And to end the activity on a high note, a delicious aperitif awaits you!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time, at the meeting point in Ponte alla Piera, a hamlet of Anghiari, in the province of Arezzo.
We will be welcomed by the guide, who will give us a brief introduction of about 5 minutes, explaining how the visit will take place and how to interact safely with the animals.
From here our tour through the farm's enclosures will begin. In each area we will be able to enter, pet and feed the animals, while listening to some interesting facts about them. These include sheep, ferrets, emus, skunks and fluffy alpacas.
In a large 9-metre aviary, we will meet parrots, to whom we can offer peanuts and with whom we can take a few souvenir photos. Then it will be the turn of the camel, rescued from a circus and now a guest of the refuge: if we wish, we can take it out of the enclosure and brush it. Finally, we will spend some time with some sweet ponies and mini ponies.
After about an hour's visit, we will say goodbye to our new friends and turn into archers, following a real traditional archery lesson, during which the guide will explain the history of this discipline, which originated as a survival tool. After a 20-minute theoretical introduction, we will move on to practice: we will hold the bow, learn how to maintain a correct posture and shoot arrows.
We will put the bow down after 45 minutes of activity and sit down in a quieter area of the farm to enjoy a delicious aperitif (included) with typical products such as cold meats, cheeses and garden produce accompanied by prosecco, juices or soft drinks. During the aperitif there will also be games for children (and not only! ), such as quidditch (inspired by the Harry Potter novels) , cornhole (of American origin) , tug-of-war and sack race.
The activity will last a total of two and a half hours.
