Full description
On this sailing trip to Catania you will discover the Riviera dei Ciclopi with its crystal-clear sea and distinctive lava formations.
The experienced skipper will take you to discover the Caves of Ulysses, Aci Castello with its famous Aci Trezza, and in the meantime tell you the legends of the area.
You will enjoy a few hours of relaxation and diving, of which we will take advantage to snorkel and admire the colourful fish swimming in the water. We look forward to seeing you on board!
What we will do
The rendezvous is at the port of Catania at the time chosen when booking (if you choose the 17:00 departure time, you can also enjoy the sunset!). On our arrival, we will be welcomed by the skipper who, before setting sail, will give us a short briefing on the basics of sailing.
We will set off in a northerly direction and shortly afterwards reach the Ulysses Caves, formed inside a volcanic lava cliff overlooking the sea. Here we will be able to dive in to enjoy our first swim and, wearing our mask, we will dive to discover the inhabitants of these waters.
Back on board, we will pass the rocky spur on which the Norman Castle of Aci Castello stands in black lava stone. We will be able to dive down to admire the characteristic pillows of lava that can be found under the castle.
Back on board we will reach Aci Trezza, the heart of theIsole Ciclopi marine protected area. Here we can get off the boat and enjoy a short walk through the fishing village or we can take another swim.
When we return on board, a tasty aperitif with various snacks and white wine will be waiting for us. Before returning to port, those who wish will enjoy a last dip in the sea with a view ofMount Etna.
The excursion lasts three hours.

The tour is aimed at everyone from 3 years old and up. The boat is not wheelchair-accessible.

The tour takes place all year round, weather permitting, and is confirmed with a minimum of 6 persons.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult of legal age.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
