Have you ever thought of coming face to face with an ancient submerged statue?
You can do so by taking part in our underwater dive in the Baia Submerged Park: in the company of a diving instructor you will swim among statues, columns and mosaics perfectly preserved on the seabed.
Anexperience of over 2 hours, discovering the Roman treasure that hides at a depth of 4 metres!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Baia, a hamlet in the municipality of Bacoli (NA). We will be welcomed by thediving instructor who will accompany us on this adventure!
Once all participants have gathered, anintroduction to the Submerged Park of Baia will take place, followed by a theoretical diving lesson during which the basics of the discipline will be provided for a carefree experience; this first moment will last 1 hour. This will be followed by the handover ofdiving equipment and dressing.
We will then walk to the pier to proceed with boarding the rubber dinghy, which will take us inside the archaeological park in just 10 minutes. On board there will be a 15-minute dive preparation, during which we will go over the most important notions and practice preparatory exercises.
Depending on the best visibility conditions of the day, we will follow one of the following routes: Nymphaeum of Claudius, amidst incredibly well-preserved statues; Villa a Protiro, amidst mosaics that tell human stories; Terme del Lacus, amidst mosaics with floral fantasies; Porto Julius, amidst scenic columns rising from the seabed. The underwater dive will take place at a maximum depth of 4 metres, each participant in the company of a dedicated diving instructor, for a duration of 30 minutes. We will swim among ancient statues, columns and mosaics dating back to Roman times!
We will then return to the meeting point. The experience will last a total of 2 ½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable from the age of 10; children under the age of 18 may participate unaccompanied but with signed authorisation from both parents.
Swimming skills are required to participate.
The experience is prohibited for persons with respiratory and cardiac diseases. People with diabetes may participate with a medical certificate.
Other information
The experience takes place all year round.
The route within the Baia Underwater Park will be determined by the diving instructor according to the best visibility conditions of the day.
Theboat used is a 6.60-metre-long dinghy equipped with a canopy. The boat may be shared with the participants of the snorkelling excursion.
There is a changing room with toilet and shower on site; lockers for storing personal belongings are temporarily unavailable.
On-site parking is available for a fee. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
