Full description
Dive into the waters of the Gulf of Catania and discover its wonderful lava seabed with an underwater dive.
You will come into contact with a new, silent but incredibly fascinating world. You will swim among fish and sea creatures, discovering suggestive lava seabeds and expanses of white sand. It will be an adventure full of emotions, in which you will feel like an authentic marine explorer.
With the assistance of an experienced instructor, you will safely enjoy this unique experience. When it's over, you'll look forward to diving again!
This activity is intended for divers with anOpen Water Diver licence.
What we will do
The meeting is in Aci Castello, in the province of Catania. Here we will meet theinstructor and the rest of our small group (up to 6 participants). Afterwards, we will set off in the direction of the marine protected area.
We will sail along the coast of Aci Castello to reach the dive site. Once reached, we will conduct a briefing on the activity and will be givendiving equipment (included in the participation fee). At this point we will be ready to dive!
After diving into the sea, we will discover the wonderful lava seabed of the Gulf of Catania. We will see basalt columns, ancient lava flows, underwater canyons, volcanic faults, and even the wrecks of World War II.
Octopuses, seabreams, sponges and gorgonians are just some of the aquatic species we will encounter. The depth of the dive, as well as the chosen dive spot, depend on the type of licence we hold.
The experience lasts a total of four hours and ends with the return to Aci Castello.

The activity is open to all those with an Open Water licence.
The minimum age for participation is 14.

The activity takes place from April to October, subject to weather and sea conditions.
Times are indicative and may vary by a maximum of 30 minutes depending on the weather conditions of the day.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
