Scuba Diving without tanks in Calabria

Have you ever snorkelled down to 5 metres breathing like a diver?

No? Then get ready, because the PETER Diving System will open the doors to a world that seems like science fiction, but is reality: 30 minutes underwater without tanks on you, to swim in total freedom.

In the blink of a fin you will meet the seahorses, the true hosts of Marina di Gioiosa Ionica, along with many other sea inhabitants that populate the Reef Balls in this area.

The perfect experience if you want to take your first "plunge" into the underwater world and come back to the surface wanting to do it again right away!

What we will do

The appointment is at the selected time at the meeting point in Marina di Gioiosa Ionica (RC). We will be welcomed by thediving instructor with whom we will face this first underwater experience!

We will reach the dive site aboard a shuttle that will take us in a few minutes to the beach near the Reef Balls, i.e. concrete barriers placed on the seabed to create new shelters for fish.

At this point, we will listen to a briefing: the instructor will explain how the PETER Diving System works (the tank remains on the surface anchored to a float and air comes in through a tube while we are free to swim) and the basic signals for communicating underwater.

We then put on our mask, fins and belt and are ready to dive! We will descend from the shore and dive to a depth of 5 metres, where we will easily encounter seahorses, alongside octopuses and small, colourful fish.

At our side, of course, there will always be the instructor. After about 30 minutes of diving we will return to the surface and return to the diving centre, where we will receive photos and videos of our experience.

The activity will last about two hours in total. If we want to prolong the experience, we can do a second dive either in the colourful seabed of Scylla or among wrecks and submerged archaeological sites, depending on the option selected at the time of booking.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable from the age of 8; children under the age of 18 must have a signed release form.

The activity is particularly ideal for children and people with disabilities as it allows them to become familiar with diving in an easier and freer way than a classic scuba dive.

The experience takes place from June to September , subject to weather and sea conditions.

When booking, you can select one of the following options:

• 1 dive (reef balls) € 60.00
• 2 dives ( reef balls + Scylla): € 90,00
• 2 dives ( reef balls + archaeological site): € 100,00

There is free parking on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

There are changing rooms with showers and toilets at the diving centre.

Any accompanying persons can wait at the diving centre.

It is not recommended to dive 24 hours before a flight.
