Sea baptism in Milazzo

There is a moment, when you put your head under water and start breathing with your regulator, when everything stops. It is the beginning of an unforgettable journey: your first breath in the blue.

In Milazzo, in one of the most picturesque corners of the Sicilian coastline, you can experience the thrill of sea baptism. Accompanied by a diving instructor, you will enter the water directly from the beach and discover what it means to dive amidst crystal-clear sand, posidonia and curious fish. Get ready to listen to the sea!

What we will do

The appointment is at the indicated time at the meeting point in Milazzo (ME). Waiting for us will be theinstructor who will accompany us step by step in this first diving experience.

We will begin with a briefing of about 10 minutes, during which we will be shown the equipment we will use and basic safety rules will be explained to us. We will then put on a wetsuit, fins, mask, tank and all the necessary equipment.

The sea baptism will take place from land, with entry into the water directly from the beach in front of the diving centre. We will begin with a moment of acclimatisation at a depth of about 1 metre, to familiarise ourselves with the regulator and learn how to breathe underwater. When we feel comfortable, we will begin the descent to greater depths, again accompanied by the instructor.

We will descend along a series of natural steps that will take us to a maximum depth of 4.5 metres. We will explore the seabed for about 35 minutes, amidst clear sand, posidonia and a few fish peeping through the rocks.

At the end of the dive we will emerge from the water and conclude the experience by receiving our "First Breath in the Blue" certificate. The experience will last about 2 hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for ages 8 and up; minors may also participate on their own, provided they are accompanied by a parent or adult who will complete the liability form.

A liability release form and medical history must be completed prior to the activity. The activity is forbidden for those suffering from respiratory or cardiac diseases, epilepsy or diabetes.

The activity is perfect for a first dive and does not require a licence.

Other information

The experience takes place from April to November.

The meeting point can be reached by public transport and free parking is available on site.

The fee does not include the campsite entrance fee of 2€, to be paid on site.

There are outdoor showers and an outdoor changing room; you can leave your personal belongings at the diving centre.

The activity includes digital photos taken with GoPro, handed out at the exit or sent by e-mail in the following days, and a personalised "First Breath in the Blue" digital certificate.
