Discover the secrets of the underground with anaquatic caving excursion in Grotta Punta degli Stretti on Monte Argentario.
Using ropes and a harness, you will traverse this flooded cave, swimming, diving and moving among stalactites and stalagmites.
An expert guide will always be at your side to guarantee maximum safety, and the headlamp provided will allow you to fully discover such an evocative underground environment.
What we will do
We will meet in Orbetello at 11 a.m., at the meeting point indicated in the booking confirmation email. Together we will move to the entrance of the Grotta del Monte Argentario and proceed to get dressed and put on the harness and helmet. The guide will then give a short briefing on safety rules and progression techniques.
The cave begins with a beautiful large room, characterised by two columns on the left side. The room is completely flooded with fresh water, which does not flow and therefore forms a charming little lake.
Once immersed in this lake, it is necessary to swim, as in some places the water is quite deep and we will not be able to touch the bottom. The other rooms are connected to the first one by tunnels, but we will almost always be able to maintain an upright position, only in a few cases will we have to lower ourselves a little.
Inside the cave we will be able to walk where we will find dry rock and we will be able to admire stalactites and stalagmites up close. There will also be time for a nice dive.
The caving activity inside the Argentario Cave will last about 2 ½ hours, for a total of about 3 hours considering briefings and transfers.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is aimed at everyone aged 13 and above. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
To participate in this activity, one must be able to swim and not suffer from claustrophobia. The spaces will be large and there will be no bottlenecks, but it is good to consider that it is still an enclosed environment.

The activity is confirmed when there are at least 8 participants.
The activity takes place all year round because the cave temperature is independent of the outside temperature and is therefore perceived as warm in winter and cool in summer.
During the activity, it is advisable to remove your goggles or equip yourself with a lanyard to reduce the possibility of losing them.
Long hair should be tied back during the activity.
