Born in Aosta, I grew up surrounded by the fantastic peaks of my region. After finishing my studies, I began to get to know the mountain world. In a short time, I became passionate about all mountain disciplines, from trekking to high-altitude mountaineering and ice climbing. In 2016, I fulfilled my dream of becoming an Alpine Guide.

Full description

If you are a mountain, snow and ski mountaineering lover, you will know that the Aosta Valley has countless itineraries suitable for practising this fascinating discipline.

An Alpine Guide will be happy to accompany you to discover the most beautiful slopes, the most spectacular panoramas, the softest and most pleasant snow on which to let yourself go for an exciting off-piste descent after the exertions of the climb.

Spend a day completely immersing yourself in the dimension you love most - that of snow - far from the crowds and confusion of ski resorts. Aski-mountaineering excursion in Valle d'Aosta will give you an all-round experience of nature and the mountain, the real thing!

What we will do

The starting point for our ski mountaineering excursion will be Aosta (unless we already have a precise location in mind where we want to make the excursion; in that case we can agree with the guide, after booking, on a different meeting point).

After getting to know the mountain guide, we will have an introductory briefing on the characteristics of the chosen itinerary and the snow conditions at the time. Then, after the usual check of the safety kit (probe, shovel and avalanche transceiver), we will be ready to approach the starting point (which will obviously depend on the route selected).

The guide will take care of choosing the most suitable hiking programme for us, taking into account our preferences, physical abilities, training and previous experience. But don't worry, in Valle d'Aosta there really is something for all tastes and levels: from Pila to Courmayeur, from Champoluc to Gressonay and many other ski resorts, both well-known and less well-known.

During the ascent, we will have the opportunity to learn as much as possible from the guide about ski-mountaineering techniques, pause to observe the mountain panoramas and breathtaking views, take photos and live every moment to the full!

At the end of the ascent, it will be time to refresh ourselves with a packed lunch and prepare for the most adrenalin-pumping part of the day: the descent. Always best advised by the guide, we will enjoy the speed and thrills of off-piste skiing on fresh, untracked snow: a truly unforgettable experience for all mountain lovers!

The activity starts around 8 a.m., with the meeting with the guide at the agreed point, and ends around 3.30 p.m.-4 p.m. with the return to the same point.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an intermediate/advanced level and is aimed at those who already have some experience in ski mountaineering and are able to ski with familiarity on black slopes and in all snow conditions. Participation is possible from the age of 14 and above.

Other information

Attention! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the meeting point.

This activity can be carried out from December to April, subject to snow and weather conditions and the guide's availability.

Ski touring equipment is the responsibility of the participants. The guide can provide the safety kit free of charge (if you need it, ask for it after booking).

If you already have a ski mountaineering itinerary in mind that you would like to undertake, you can let the guide know after booking and the guide will consider it. If this is not the case, the guide himself will choose the itinerary based on the characteristics of the group.

Should circumstances require it, the guide may decide to use a ski lift or a bus or taxi to shorten the itinerary or close any loop routes. In that case, the cost of the tickets will be borne by the participants, including that for the guide.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
