Full description
Would you like to swim in the company of the Cinque Terre's special marine fauna? Snorkelling is the activity for you.
Diving from a boat off Riomaggiore, you will be able to plumb the seabed of theprotected marine area with mask and snorkel for anhour and a half, in search of numerous Mediterranean species.
Octopuses, bream, moray eels, damselfish: get ready to recognise them all!
What we will do
The meeting point is at the diving centre in Riomaggiore (SP), 10 minutes before the time indicated at the time of booking.
Here we will be given the snorkelling equipment to carry out the activity (mask, fins and snorkel) and we will descend with the skipper to our boat, walking down the two flights of stairs to the small port of Riomaggiore.
In just five minutes the boat will take us to the spot chosen for our dive, between 500 and 600 metres in front of Riomaggiore. On board, the skipper will give us some useful information on the species we will be able to observe, while in the water we will be free to indulge in our own explorations.
We will have about 1 hour to swim and admire the seabed of the Cinque Terre in search of Mediterranean marine species: we will be able to spot octopus, moray eels, shoals of bream and damselfish, or go out to spot rock species.
Once back on the boat, we will return to Riomaggiore, where we can change at the diving centre. The activity will last about 1 ½ hours, including briefing, transfers and snorkelling.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from 8 years of age. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
To participate, one must be able to swim and be in good health.
The activity is not suitable for pregnant women and persons with reduced mobility.
Other information
The activity is available from mid-May to the first week of October, every day.
Attention. During snorkelling there is no instructor in the water: participants will be free to carry out the activity independently, with the skipper supervising from the boat.
The transfer takes place in a 7.5 m motor boat, licensed for 12 passengers and 2 crew members, and equipped with a canopy, a surf board and emergency equipment. Participants of the diving centre's organised diving trips may also be on board.
Dogs are not allowed.
A changing room and a locker for storing personal belongings are available at the diving centre (however, there are no showers or toilets).
It is possible to reach Riomaggiore by train; parking spaces on site are limited.
