A plunge into history: no, this is not a metaphor.
That's exactly what awaits you during this snorkelling tour in the Baia Underwater Archaeological Park, where ancient mosaics, nymphaea and the remains of imperial baths lie just a few metres below the surface, amid shoals of fish and fabulous views.
They were once the recreation grounds of the Romans, today they are the heart of Italy's first underwater museum. You can swim in them, with mask on your face and eyes wide open!
What we will do
The appointment is 1 hour before the selected time at the meeting point in Bacoli (NA). This will allow us to respect the restricted access to the Underwater Archaeological Park of Baia.
Once we arrive, we will meet the dive guides who will provide us withfull equipment and lead us in an introductory briefing on land, to explain the basic rules of the activity and tell us what we will admire underwater.
We will then board a 10-metre rubber dinghy and in a few minutes we will reach the underwater archaeological site. There the magic will begin: the diving instructor will lead the group carrying a buoy, and we will follow him floating on the surface, with our mask on and our eyes glued to the seabed.
We will swim for 30 minutes among the remains of Roman villas, ancient baths and submerged mosaics at a depth of 4.5 metres and visible even from the surface, thanks to the clear waters of the area. Those who wish will be able to take short apneas to take a closer look at statues, columns and the seabed rich in history (as well as fish).
The activity will be carried out in groups of a maximum of eight people per instructor to ensure safety and attention for all.
We will then return to the meeting point. The total duration of the activity will be approximately 2½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is recommended from 6 years of age. Children under 18 can participate accompanied by an adult or by presenting a signed authorisation.
Swimming skills are required to participate in the activity.

The experience is available all year round, every day except Mondays.
The meeting point is easily accessible by public transport. Free and/or paid parking is available on site.
Theboat used for the transfer is a 33-foot Pirahna dinghy, powered by two 200 hp Suzuki four-strokes, approved for 34 persons, double ladder.
The diving centre has changing rooms with hot showers, toilets and lockers for personal belongings.
Any accompanying persons can wait near the meeting point.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
