Tandem paragliding flight in Abetone

Have you ever been high enough to see two seas… without the pilot asking for your passport?

In Abetone, a tandem paragliding flight of around 20 minutes with a certified pilot awaits you. You’ll take off from an altitude of over 1, 800 metres to admire the Tuscan Apennines from a perspective that few are lucky enough to see.

Before take-off, you’ll receive a full briefing and fly using state-of-the-art equipment, tested and designed to ensure your utmost safety. Once in the air, your only real task will be to remember to breathe and enjoy the view!

What we will do

We’ll meet at the selected time at the landing point in Abetone (PT), where we’ll meet the pilot.

From there, we’ll head to the take-off point, situated at an altitude of around 1, 800 metres. Depending on the take-off site and the weather conditions on the day, we’ll make the ascent by cable car (one-way ticket not included) or, if possible, in the pilot’s car or that of an accompanying person.

Once we arrive, we’ll put on the equipment provided and take part in a detailed briefing, during which the pilot will explain every stage of the take-off, flight and landing. When everything is ready, just a few steps… and we’ll be airborne.

We’ll fly over the slopes of Abetone, the mountain huts and the valleys of the Apennines. Weather permitting, we’ll be able to see small alpine lakes from above, spot deer and other wildlife, and, on the clearest days, even catch a glimpse of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Island of Elba on the horizon.

The flight will last about 20 minutes. If the weather is favourable and we’d like to, the pilot can perform a few aerobatic manoeuvres to add a bit of adrenaline. After a gentle landing, we’ll round off the experience with a brief debriefing and, if we’ve opted for the additional service, we’ll receive photos and videos taken with a GoPro.

The activity lasts a total of around 2 hours.

Who it is aimed at

A tandem paragliding flight is an experience open to everyone. You simply need to be in good health, have no heart or cardiovascular conditions, and be able to run a short distance at take-off.

To take part, you must weigh between 30 and 115 kg. Minors may take part with the consent of a parent or a responsible adult.

The experience is also accessible to people with mobility impairments thanks to a special paragliding trolley. To ensure the flight is organised as smoothly as possible, we recommend that you contact the organiser after booking using the contact details provided in the confirmation email.

Other information

Important: paragliding is an activity that is heavily dependent on weather conditions. The pilot will contact you 2 or 3 days before the scheduled date of the activity to confirm the exact time and whether the flight can go ahead.

This activity is available all year round.

With at least 3 days’ notice, it is possible to organise simultaneous flights for up to 4 people, subject to pilot availability.

On request and for an additional charge, you can purchase videos and photos of the experience taken by the pilot using a GoPro (€20 without video editing and €30 with video editing) .

The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport; a transfer service from your accommodation/hotel is available on request and for an additional charge. There is a pay-and-display car park on site.
