Tandem paragliding flight from Cimetta to Locarno

Treat yourself to the thrill of a tandem paragliding flight with the Ticino Valley at your feet. The rendezvous is in Locarno in Switzerland, from where you will reach the Cardada cable car and then the take-off point at Cimetta, at an altitude of 1672 m.

Throughout the flight, you will rely on an expert instructor and enjoy the beauty of this experience, hearing only the rustle of the wind as it inflates the glider. You will admire the Maggia Valley, the Verzasca Valley and the castles of Bellinzona from above and glide over the delta of the Maggia River and Locarno.

To make your flight even more beautiful, you will have the option of requesting a photo shoot during the booking phase. The pilot will immortalise the most exciting moments and will hand over photos and videos at the end of the flight.

What we will do

We will meet at Camping Delta in Locarno, where our instructor will be waiting for us. Together with him we will board the taxi or bus that will take us to the Cardada cable car, from here we will then reach our take-off point in Cimetta, in about 45 minutes.

We will be at an altitude of 1672 m and about 100 m away from the arrival of the cable car. The instructor will give us all the instructions to prepare for the flight and harness us to him safely. When we are ready, all we have to do is take a few steps downhill to get the momentum going.

Once in the air, we can admire the wonderful Ticino Valley at our feet. The Maggia and Verzasca Valleys will open up before us, and as we gaze down we will see the castles of Bellinzona and, on clear days, even the towns of Cannobio and Luino in Italy. We will experience, in complete safety, the freedom an eagle feels when it flies through the skies.

During the entire flight, approximately 30 minutes, we will sit as if in a chairlift and enjoy the sensation of soaring through the air thanks to the ascending currents.

We will glide gently over the delta of the Maggia river and the beautiful town of Locarno, landing at the same meeting point on the shores of Lake Maggiore.

The total duration of the activity will be 2 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is of an easy level and suitable for beginners. Children from the age of 6 can also fly, with signed parental consent. Up to the age of 16, the presence of a parent is mandatory.

In order to fly paragliders, participants must be within a weight limit of 140 kg. Other requirements are good health and good mobility.

Other information

The tandem paragliding flight is available all year round from Wednesday to Sunday, subject to weather conditions.

If you would like to take home the memory of this experience, you can choose theoption "with photo and video" at an additional cost of 40€ when booking. Photos and videos will be sent by special cable to your phone at the end of the activity.

Important: Paragliding is an activity that is strongly dependent on the weather. The pilot will contact you a day or two before the activity to give you confirmation of the time and meeting point. Safety first: if the weather forecast is not good, the flight will be carried out in another area or postponed to a new date.
