Franciacorta wine tasting with cellar visit and vineyard walk in Cologne

In Franciacorta , wine is serious business.

That's why, during this visit to the Quadra Franciacorta winery, you will abandon 'aperitif talk' and enter active listening mode. Together with a sommelier, you will walk between the rows of vines, see with your own eyes how a Franciacorta is made in the cellar, and then be guided through a technical tasting of 4 glasses.

A 1½-hour experience, perfect for those who want to really understand what it means to make Franciacorta with rigour and authenticity!

What we will do

The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at Quadra Franciacorta in Cologne (BS), in the setting of the Franciacorta territory, a mosaic of unique terroirs stretching from the margins to the heart of the appellation.

We will be welcomed by our guide and sommelier, who will begin our journey into the world of Quadra by introducing us to the values, history and peculiarities of the terroir, so that we can immediately understand what makes these Franciacorta wines so recognisable.

If time permits, we will move between the rows of vines for a walk in the open air. Walking among Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc, we will discover how the microclimate of Lake Iseo and the variety of soils contribute to the elegance and character of the wines, creating a landscape that is both natural and productive.

We will then return to the cellar, where we will visit a single large room, the operational heart of production. Here, the guide will accompany us on a discovery of Quadra's oenological philosophy, carefully explaining the fundamental steps that lead to the birth of the different cuvées: from the handling of the must to the taking of foam, right up to the long resting on the lees that characterises quality Franciacorta.

After the technical tour, we will move to the tasting room, a cosy and bright space overlooking the vineyards. Here the sensory experience that defines the winery's method will take shape: a moment of listening, concentration and confrontation, in which each goblet becomes a tool for reading the territory in the glass.

The tasting will include 4 glasses of Franciacorta: QBlack, Satèn, Rosé and Zero, selected to best represent the different nuances of Quadra's identity (subject to vintage availability) . The glasses will be accompanied by breadsticks , but on request it will be possible to add a platter of cold meats and cheeses at an extra cost of €5. 00 per person (payable locally) .

Throughout the tasting we will be guided in a technical and in-depth manner, to understand the differences between the labels, the characteristics of the grape varieties and the production choices behind each cuvée.

The experience will last a total of 1½ hours.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is recommended for 18 years of age and above, as wine tasting is reserved for adults only.

Children and people with astemia are welcome as accompanying persons and can participate in the tour free of charge.

The facility and the tour route are also accessible to wheelchair users and those using pushchairs.

The experience takes place throughout the year and is confirmed when there are at least 2 participants.

Attention. At 10: 30 a. m. and 2: 30 p. m. the tour takes place in Italian. At 11: 30, the tour takes place in English only.

Dogs are allowed on a leash during the experience.
