Discover thedeepest soul of Valpolicella with an extraordinary vertical tasting of Amarone at Cantina Mizzon, in the province of Verona.
You will experience a journey through 4 vintages of this iconic wine: from the power of the DOCG Classico to the elegance of the Riserva di Famiglia. Between fine glasses, a tour of the cellar and pairings with cured meats, artisan cheeses and chocolate, every detail will tell a story of excellence and passion.
A 1.5-hour experience, a perfect time to taste - and fall in love with - one of Valpolicella's iconic wines!
What we will do
The appointment is at the selected time at the Mizzon Winery in San Pietro in Cariano (VR), where we will be welcomed by the guide and sommelier with an introduction to the history of the family and Valpolicella.
We will begin with a visit to the vineyards, where the characteristics of the grapes and the cultivation systems used will be explained. We will then move inside for a tour of the wine cellar lasting about 30 minutes, discovering the secrets of the fruttaio where the grapes are slowly dried, the fermentation room and the bottaia, amidst barrels and barriques that hold the future Amarone.
After the visit, we will be seated in the room prepared for the vertical tasting of 4 Amarones:
- Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG;
- Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico Riserva;
- Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico in Amphora;
- Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico Riserva di Famiglia (surprise vintage).
Each wine will be accompanied by a selection of local artisan cured meats and cheeses, chosen to enhance the flavours of each glass. And to end on a sweet note, a refined trio of chocolates for a surprising pairing.
The experience will last approximately 1½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The wine tasting is reserved for participants over 18 years of age only. Minors or astemious persons may participate by selecting the "Accompanying persons" option when booking, and they will be served a drink or fruit juice, plus a platter of cold meats and cheeses.
The facility is wheelchair accessible, with the exception of the wine cellar.

The experience takes place from Tuesday to Saturday all year round and is confirmed when there are at least 2 participants.
Dogs are allowed on the premises.
