They say that to really understand a wine you have to know its history.
And at Tenuta Malenchini, near Florence, history flows within the walls of a centuries-old mansion and can be breathed in the evocative underground cellars.
Get ready to explore its secrets and then enjoy a lunch that will make you fall in love with Tuscany (if you aren't already). All this, of course, while tasting three of the estate's excellent wines.

What we will do
The appointment is at 12.30 pm at the Malenchini estate in Grassina, a few kilometres from Florence. After a welcome from the guide, we will enter through the main gate of the Villa Medicea and discover its fascinating history.
After an introduction to the estate's winemaking tradition, we will explore the modern fermentation area and then descend into the evocative underground cellars, amidst stone arches and centuries-old barrels.
After this immersion in history, we will take a seat in one of the villa's rooms - the Fireplace Room or the Courtyard Room, depending on the number of participants - for lunch.
The lunch menu includes three courses: a platter of local cold cuts and cheeses, bruschetta with extra-virgin olive oil; a typical first course, such as ribollita or homemade pasta, and finally dessert, which, depending on the season, may be a schiacciata con l'uva or vinsanto dry pastries.
Accompanying everything will of course be three wines from the estate. Thanks to the guide's stories, we will learn more about their characteristics and the different pairings.
The experience lasts a total of about 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The wine tasting is reserved for participants aged 18 and over only. Any accompanying minors or adults who are not tasting will be charged a reduced fee, which can be selected in the booking box; they will be served fruit juices or other non-alcoholic drinks.
The facility is wheelchair-accessible, with the exception of the underground cellar and terrace.

The experience takes place all year round.

The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport; there is free parking on site.
