Wine and product tasting in historic estate on the outskirts of Rome

If you think a wine tasting is just 'wine and chopping board', you might change your mind here.

In Frascati, on the outskirts of Rome, a wine-tasting experience awaits you at a Historical House overlooking the hills of the ancient Regillo Lake. Once through the gate, you will find 57 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, rows perfectly aligned on the hills of the Castelli Romani.

You will taste 3 wines of excellence narrated by a guide, while enjoying a rich aperitif with the flavours of the estate: bread with home-produced extra virgin olive oil, cured meats, cheeses, olives and the ever-present wine doughnuts.

What we will do

The appointment is at the time selected when booking at the Frascati estate in the province of Rome. We will be welcomed by our guide, who will open the doors of this historical design residence, amidst avenues of centuries-old cypresses and vineyards that extend over the first hills of the Castelli Romani.

After an initial moment dedicated to telling the story of the estate and the territory, we will be seated in the tasting area: under the outdoor gazebo in fine weather or in the heated indoor room in winter, always in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

We will then begin the tasting journey with three selected wines from the estate. Glass after glass we will discover the characteristics of indigenous grape varieties such as Malvasia del Lazio, Trebbiano, Montepulciano and Lecinaro, guided in the analysis of aromas, structure and balance. We will taste a white, a red and a bubbly, including Frascati, Cannellino di Frascati and Roma Rosso 'Lecino'.

To accompany our glasses, we will be served a rich aperitif with products from the farm and the territory: bread with home-produced EVO oil, cold meats, cheeses, olives, spelt salad, and the inevitable wine doughnuts.

The experience will last about 1 hour in total.

Who it is aimed at

The tasting is intended for adults.

Any accompanying minors and people with astemia can participate in the experience; for them, it will be possible to purchase a platter of local products on site at a cost of €15, accompanied by fruit juice, water or other non-alcoholic drinks, depending on availability.

The facility is wheelchair accessible.
