What sound does happiness make? For us it is the gentle ringing of the cows in the high mountains, where the eye goes far away and the starry sky seems bigger than ever.
If you too love the crisp alpine air, come and experience this unique stay: a Tipì tent at the Mortirolo Pass at an altitude of 1810 metres, surrounded by alpine pastures, larch and fir forests.
Fall asleep listening to the sounds of nature and wake up with a breakfast prepared by the nearby mountain hut: your mountain nest is waiting for you!
What we will do
Check-in is at 3 p.m. at the hut at Passo del Mortirolo (SO), 1810 metres above sea level. On arrival you will be welcomed by the hut managers, Remo and Daniela, and taken to your Tipì tent, located on a meadow behind the hut, about 30 metres away.
Inside you will find everything you need for the night: double futon, warm duvet, towels, lights and small furnishings to create the right atmosphere. For toilet facilities you will be allocated a bathroom inside the hut, reserved if available, otherwise shared with other guests.
It will be all too easy to fall in love with this hut, surrounded by larch and fir trees, under a clear sky. From your tipi, your gaze will sweep over the surrounding alpine pastures and the imposing peaks of the Adamello and Bernina mountains. With a bit of luck, you might even spot some curious animals, such as foxes, deer or roe deer!
During the day, you can explore the area starting directly from the hut, along the many scenic paths suitable for everyone. The area is also perfect for experienced hikers and cycling enthusiasts: it is no coincidence that the Mortirolo Pass is one of the legendary stages of the Giro d'Italia.
For dinner (not included) you can enjoy hot dishes prepared by the refuge and spend the evening in the warmth. It will then be time to snuggle up in your Tipì, tuck in your blanket up to your chin and let the sounds of the mountains lull you to sleep!
In the morning, the day will begin with a wholesome breakfast (included) served in the hut: juice, coffee, milk, sweet or savoury items depending on availability.

The Tipì is designed to accommodate a maximum of 2 adults.
The property is not wheelchair-accessible.

The bathroom is located within the hut, about 30 metres from Tipì, and is equipped with a toilet, shower, washbasin, bidet and soapsuds. Where possible, Tipì guests will be allocated a private bathroom in a room; if the hut is full, the toilet will instead be shared with other guests. There are no power sockets in the tent, but the host will provide you with a powerbank or point you to a power socket near the Tipi.
Dinner is not included and can be enjoyed and paid for on site at the hut: if you wish to dine here, please inform the host after confirmation of your booking. Please remember to inform us in advance of any food allergies and/or intolerances.
Dogs are not allowed.
The lodge is not accessible by public transport. Free parking is available on site.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
