How? Aboard a sprightly quad bike on our adrenaline-pumping 3-hour tour.
Speed past volcanic craters and lava rock caves that are still active; climb up to an altitude of 2000 metres and admire the power of nature surrounding this imposing volcano that dominates Sicily and the boundless Ionian Sea!
What we will do
We will meet in Pedara, in the province of Catania, at least 15 minutes before the time selected during the booking process. The guide will welcome us and introduce us to this fantastic four-wheeled vehicle. It will be an informative briefing in which we will learn how the quad bike works and how to ride it safely.
After putting on our helmets, we will board the quad bike and set off to discover Etna's volcanic attractions.
Along the 35 km route, equally divided between dirt and asphalt, we will explore ever-changing landscapes: from lush chestnut forests to lava craters, up to an altitude of 2000 metres, where we will be able to see the boundless Ionian Sea from above.
Equipped with lights and a helmet, we will enter a lava flow cave to admire the power of nature up close (approx. 15-minute visit). Back on board the quad bike, we will visit the 2001 lava flow and continue to the Rifugio Sapienza for a well-deserved break.
During the breaks, we will be able to switch to driving the quad bike (if in possession of a driving licence) before starting the return journey to Pedara, after about 3 hours of hiking.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is aimed at everyone, aged 5 and up.
A valid B licence is required to drive the quad bike.
Other information
Activities take place throughout the year, including holidays.
Suitcases and personal items can be left at the venue. It is also possible to rent shoes and a k-way for the hike on site, but we recommend that you bring a spare pair of shoes to wear at the end of the experience.
Dogs are not allowed on the hike.
The meeting place cannot be reached by public transport, but a transfer from Catania, Taormina and the surrounding area is available at an extra charge (to be paid on site).
