Full description
Join us for an exciting e-bike adventure in the hills of Gattinara to discover an area where important grape varieties are translated into excellent wines.
We will cycle among the vineyards, along a panoramic route from which we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Alps and the Biella Pre-Alps , following a route of around 10 km.
We will end our day in the best possible way with a tasting of typical wines at the Il Chiosso winery, nestled among the vineyards.
What we will do
The appointment is at the time agreed at the time of booking at our headquarters in Borgosesia. Here we will load the bikes onto the shuttle, on board of which we will reach the starting point in Gattinara.
After a briefing on the activity and the route, we will get into the saddle to begin our e-bike excursion.
We will ride on white roads for about 10 km, during which we will cover a difference in altitude of about 150/200 metres. The route embraces the vineyards of prestigious wines, at the foot of gently sloping hills.
We will reach the ruins of the castle of San Lorenzo, a medieval fortification that overlooks a marvellous panorama stretching from the Biella Pre-Alps to the Alps and, if the skies are clear, we will also be able to catch a glimpse of Monte Rosa and the Po Valley.
We will also be able to admire up close the Supervolcano of Valsesia, a caldera 15 km in diameter that was formed following an eruption millions of years ago.
After savouring the scents, history and traditions of this land, we will reach the Il Chiosso wine cellar where our efforts will be rewarded with a tasting of typical wines accompanied by a platter of cold meats and cheeses and savoury pies.
Once the tasting is over, you can get back on your e-bike and cover a few more kilometres before taking the shuttle back to the base. Alternatively, if the merriment of the glasses of wine has taken over, you can take the shuttle bus straight away.
The tour lasts about 6 hours in total, including 3 hours in the saddle, 2 hours of wine tasting and 1 hour of transfers and briefing.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is simple and suitable for everyone from the age of 14. No special skills are required.
Other information
The experience takes place daily from April to September and is confirmed on reaching a minimum of 6 participants.
A more challenging and demanding variant of the tour is available, which winds its way through the trails for around 20 km, during which you will cover around 500/600 metres of altitude difference. You can communicate your preference to the guide at the contact details provided once your booking is confirmed: our guide will make every effort to meet your needs.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
