Boat tour to the Circeo caves

Get away from the crowded beaches to discover the turquoise waters that characterise San Felice Circeo with a 2-hour boat trip to the beautiful caves.

You will explore the Circeo National Park, which includes no less than 40 fascinating and historically rich caves, and enjoy a refreshing swim in this natural paradise.

What we will do

The rendezvous is 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Terracina (LT) on the border with San Felice Circeo (to be precise, the meeting point is 11 km from the port of Terracina and 7 km from the port of San Felice Circeo). Here we will be met by the skipper and, once the group is formed, we will set off on our boat tour in the Circeo area.

We will reach the famous lighthouse that has illuminated the route of sailors since 1866. We will admire the ancient house of the faristi, which has a timeless charm, and continue to the Batterie di Punta Rossa, a stretch of reef on the Circeo promontory that is home to a few coves with transparent emerald-coloured water.

During our navigation we will encounter some of the 40 caves of the Circeo National Park. We will be able to admire the Grotta delle Capre, consisting of a 15-metre-high vault, the Grotta dell'Impiso with its solitary central stalactite, and the Grotta del Fossellone, to which a landslide has given a very peculiar shape: there seems to be a rock bridge over the cavities.

These are just a few of the caves that we will be able to observe, but we will see many more. Finally we will reach the Circeo promontory, a limestone relief, a meeting of myth, nature and history.

During our tour we will also dive from the boat to enjoy a refreshing swim in the clear waters. The tour lasts about two hours.

Who it is aimed at

The excursion is for everyone, without restrictions or age limits.

The boat is not accessible to wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties.

Attention! The meeting point is located halfway between Terracina and San Felice Circeo, about 10 to 15 minutes' drive from both destinations.

Attention! If you book the 11 a.m. or 4 p.m. experience, departure is 15 minutes after the meeting point.

The experience runs from June to September and is confirmed once the minimum number of 2 participants has been reached.

Theboat is a gozzo equipped with a canopy. The organiser has several 8 to 10 metre long boats at his disposal, which he will use according to availability. On board are illustrated brochures in English describing the main sights to be seen during the excursion.

Theitinerary and duration of the experience may vary depending on weather and sea conditions at the skipper's discretion.
