Full description
Did you know everything about the Po River in primary school and now only vague memories remain? Refresh them with this unmissable boat excursion on the Po di Goro, a branch of the river Po that together with others gives life to the most famous waterway in Italy.
The province of Ferrara awaits you for a tour to discover the history and biodiversity of the area. Sail along the Po delta as far asIsola dell'Amore and watch the river flow into the sea, then pass through a cane thicket and skirt the eastern stretch of the Sacca di Goro.
An experienced local skipper will guide you for 2 hours to explore the area and answer all your questions!
What we will do
We will meet 30 minutes in advance at the meeting point at the Port of Gorino, where the skipper will be waiting for us and will accompany us through the experience. We will immediately board the boat and begin our navigation along the Po di Goro, a branch of the Po River.
We will cross the stretch east of the Sacca di Goro until we reach the characteristic Isola dell'Amore, where the lighthouse of the same name stands, the only building on the island. The beach there is home to various animal species, including sea swallows and sea turtles, and is close to the point where the river flows into the sea.
We will then see how the river's journey ends before reversing direction and crossing the reed thicket of theMezzanino Protected Oasis, which originates at the Lanterna Vecchia, Goro's old lighthouse built in 1846 and active today as an ornithological observation point.
During the experience, our skipper will tell us some interesting anecdotes about the history of the place and its biodiversity, and answer all our questions!
The total duration of the experience is 2 hours, ending with the return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Unaccompanied minors under the age of 18 may participate subject to signing a waiver by a responsible adult.
Children aged between 0 and 3 years (completed) participate free of charge.
The boat is not accessible to wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties.
Other information
The activity is available every weekend of the year and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 8 participants.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport and there is ample parking nearby.
During the activity, the Carcana boat will be used, which is suitable for navigating small canals and optimal for crossing the unspoilt nature of the river Po without impacting on its bed.
Dogs are allowed on board.
