Full description
You want to spend a different weekend but choosing what to organise seems impossible. How about aboat trip on the Po di Volano? With this tour along the Po delta you can enjoy wonderful natural landscapes and discover many curious anecdotes about the history of the place.
Moreover, the area you will explore is famous for its biodiversity and the skipper will guide you to discover the animal and plant species that populate it.
This will be 2 hours of slow sailing, dedicated to relaxing and getting in tune with nature.
What we will do
We will meet 30 minutes in advance at the meeting point in Codigoro, where the skipper will be waiting for us and will accompany us through the experience. We will immediately board the boat and begin our navigation along the Po di Volano, a branch of the Po River.
We will cross the oldest stretch of the Delta and stop to observe the Torre della Finanza, built in the early 18th century to control access to the mouth of the Po di Volano, to collect tolls and for defensive purposes.
We will then discover the nature surrounding the river and pass among fishing sheds and wonderful reed thickets, among which we may perhaps catch a glimpse of some of the beautiful birds that inhabit the area.
During the experience, our skipper will tell us some interesting anecdotes about the history of the place and its biodiversity, and answer all our questions!
The total duration of the experience is 2 hours, ending with the return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Unaccompanied minors under the age of 18 may participate subject to signing a waiver by a responsible adult.
Children aged between 0 and 3 years (completed) participate free of charge.
The boat is not accessible to wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties.
Other information
The activity is available every weekend of the year and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 8 participants.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport and there is ample parking nearby.
During the activity the Cristiana boat will be used, which is suitable for navigating small canals and optimal for crossing the unspoilt nature of the Po River without impacting on its depths.
Dogs are allowed on board.
