If you are looking for an unforgettable adventure on the Trieste coast, this is the excursion you have been waiting for!
Set sail with us from Monfalcone aboard the Roberta III, a vintage sailing ship dating back to 1899, for a half-day tour and relive the charms of the Habsburg navy of the Upper Adriatic.
Proceed at the slow pace of sailing past majestic cli ffs and rocks typical of the Karst terrain, immerse yourself in the Doberdò and Pietrarossa Lakes Nature Reserve, and enjoy an aperitif with local wines and products.
If you wish, you can also participate in sailing manoeuvres and learn more about the fascinating world of sailing.
What we will do
The rendezvous is in Monfalcone (GO), 15 minutes before the time selected during the booking process. Here you will be welcomed by the skipper on board the Roberta III, a 16-metre historic sailing ship whose hull has been plying the Mediterranean Sea for over a century.
Once everyone is seated on board, we will cast off our moorings and sail to the small port of Duino, admiring the beautiful cliffs and natural beauty of the Doberdò and Pietrarossa Lakes Nature Reserve.
We will enjoy moments of pure relaxation, also tasting wines and local products offered by the crew (tasting of 3 wines with snacks and local products that vary according to seasonality). In addition, the skipper will not fail to tell us more about this enchanting land and sailing.
During the tour, we will have the opportunity to take part in sailing manoeuvres: we will be able to hoist the sails and feel the wind pushing the boat, and we will be able to manoeuvre the sails and the direction of the hull and bring it up to maximum speed.
It will be an immersive experience that will make us feel part of the crew of an elegant ship of yesteryear.
Finally, we will return to the port of departure after about four hours of touring.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is aimed at everyone from 1 year of age. No knowledge of sailing is necessary.
The boat is not accessible for persons with reduced mobility.
Other information
The tour runs from June to September, subject to weather and sea conditions, and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.
Small dogs are allowed on board.
During the excursion, sailing will be preferred to motor boating in respect of nature and the environment.
The meeting point can be easily reached by public transport.
