Discover the secrets of the south-east coast of the Island of Elba with a half-day boat tour that will take you from Lacona to the Costa dei Gabbiani, admiring the splendid Grotta del Bue Marino.
This is not a simple boat trip but a real journey into the history and nature of this wonderful land, led by an Environmental Guide from the Region of Tuscany.
On board the boat you can relax, admire the panorama, listen to the guide's stories and descriptions, and dive into the water for swimming and snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters!
What we will do
We’ll meet 15 minutes before 9. 00 am at the meeting point in Lacona – Capoliveri (LI) on the Island of Elba. Throughout the trip,the crew will be on hand to assist you and share all the secrets of the Island of Elba.
We’ll sail eastwards, very close to the coast, so that we can admire the landscape and all it has to offer. We’ll be guided in observing nature, the flora and fauna, and amongst the various species we may spot Elba’s wild goats. There’ll be informative sessions on geology and marine biology, which will be of interest to both adults and children.
We’ll pass by the most beautiful beaches along the south-eastern coast, stopping several times for a swim and some snorkelling, accompanied by an instructor who’ll guide us in observing marine life.
Among the various points of interest we’ll encounter along the way are Spiaggia Innamorata, the Bue Marino cave, the mines at Punta Calamita and Capoliveri, the Gemini Islands and the Costa dei Gabbiani, a wild stretch characterised by cliffs plunging into the sea and unspoilt coves. Our final stop will be the Gemini Islands, an ideal nesting habitat for the herring gull and the Mediterranean gull.
The excursion will last approximately 4 hours and will end with our return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone, with no age limit.
Children under the age of 4 travel free of charge: report their presence to the organisation after booking.
The boat is not wheelchair accessible.
Other information
This activity can be booked from April to October and is confirmed once a minimum of 6 participants have signed up.
The tour takes place on board a boat measuring 10 metres long by 3 metres wide, featuring a sun deck at the bow and a shaded central area with a table and seating. The boat does not have toilet facilities.
Dogs are not permitted on board.
The meeting point is on the Island of Elba; those booking from the mainland must arrange their ferry journey in advance to reach it. It cannot be reached by public transport during the times the excursion takes place. On-site parking is limited, so we recommend arriving well in advance; alternatively, paid parking is available in the centre of Lacona, about a 10-minute walk away.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
