And you, have you ever been on a volcano?
Experience an off-road tour on Mount Etna and immerse yourself for 6 hours in a unique landscape.
The sunset will take care of the atmosphere. We'll take care of the unforgettable memories for the whole family!
What we will do
The meeting will take place at the meeting point in Catania, 5 minutes before the time selected when booking. We will immediately make the acquaintance of our expert guide, who will take us on a discovery tour of Mount Etna.
Once on board our off-road vehicles, our adventure will begin: the first stop will be at Monte Pomiciaro, where we will enjoy a magnificent panorama of the Bove Valley.
Then we will head towards the volcano, reaching the southern slope. The second stop will be inside a lava cave, Grotta Cassone, a wonder of nature to be admired equipped with helmets and torches (provided by the organiser) .
After this exciting start, we will take a moment to enjoy the landscape and the view of the Bay of Catania. Then, after a short stop at a local refuge (food to be consumed by the participant) , we will proceed along a scenic path towards the last stage, Piano Vetore. We will walk along a path that will take us to a viewpoint, and in front of us the magnificent landscape of the Etna Valley illuminated by the light of sunset will unfold before us.
During our hike on Mount Etna we will touch a maximum altitude of approximately 1, 800 metres, while maintaining a minimum altitude difference. At the end of this volcanic adventure of about 6 hours, we will return to Catania aboard our off-road vehicles.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children aged 0 to 2 years participate free of charge: report their presence in advance to the organiser.
The use of a baby carrier is recommended for transporting infants ; prams are not permitted for infants during the trek.
The vans and off-road vehicles have child seats for 0 to 3 years and booster seats for up to 9 years. To request these, please contact the organiser at the contact details that will be sent to you by email with your booking confirmation.
Other information
The activity is available from April to October and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
Please note: the activity will only be cancelled in the event of adverse weather conditions or volcanic eruptions. In the event of light rain, the organisers will provide waterproof ponchos.
The organisers have three 6-seater off-road vehicles and four 8-seater all-terrain vans at their disposal.
The off-road vehicles are not equipped to transport dogs. Only small dogs are allowed inside backpacks, crates and carriers: please inform the organiser in advance.
The organiser offers a free pick-up service: before the experience takes place, he will contact you to arrange pick-up.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is last minute. You get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
