And you, have you ever been to the moon?
Experience an off-road tour to Etna's Crateri Silvestri and immerse yourself for five hours in a landscape worthy of another planet (or satellite!).
The sunset will take care of the atmosphere. We'll make sure the whole family gets a unique memory!
What we will do
The meeting will take place at the meeting point in Catania, 5 minutes before the time selected when booking. We will immediately make the acquaintance of our expert guide, who will take us on a discovery tour ofMount Etna.
Once on board our off-road vehicles, our adventure will begin: we will head towards the volcano, reaching its southern slope in particular. The first stop will be inside a lava cave, Grotta Cassone, a wonder of nature to be admired equipped with helmets and torches (provided by the organiser).
After this exciting start, we will get back on board our vehicles to reach the famous Crateri Silvestri: here we will experience an unforgettable (and very simple) trek to enjoy the landscape and the view over the bay of Catania.
Around lunchtime we will head to the Rifugio Sapienza, enjoying a break of about 1 hour. The cost of lunch is not included in the participation fee. If we have booked the tour at an afternoon time, lunch will not be provided.
Refreshed, we proceed along a scenic path towards the last stage, Piano Vetore. A unique panorama of the Etna Valley, illuminated by the romantic light of sunset, will suddenly open up before us.
During our hike on Etna we will touch a maximum altitude of around 1900 metres, while maintaining a minimum altitude difference. At the end of this volcanic adventure of about 5 hours, we will return to Catania on board our all-terrain vehicles.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children aged 0 to 2 years participate free of charge: report their presence in advance to the organiser.
The use of a baby carrier is recommended for transporting infants ; prams are not permitted for infants during the trek.
The vans and off-road vehicles have child seats for 0 to 3 years and booster seats for up to 9 years. To request these, please contact the organiser at the contact details that will be sent to you by email with your booking confirmation.
Other information
The activity is available all year round and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
Lunch on the morning tour is not included.
The organiser has three 6-seater off-road vehicles and three 8-seater off-road vans at its disposal.
The off-road vehicles are not equipped to transport dogs. Only small dogs are allowed inside backpacks, crates and carriers: please inform the organiser in advance.
The organiser offers a free pick-up service: before the experience takes place, he will contact you to arrange pick-up.
