Full description
Explore the wild beauty of northern Sardinia. Join a one-day 4x4 tour to venture among millenary nuraghi, breathtaking landscapes, and the mountains of Gallura.
Accompanied by an experienced driver, you will drive around 40 km and climb to the summit of the majestic Monte Limbara, to enjoy a summit lunch of typical Sardinian products.
On the way down, you will have the opportunity to visit the Nuraghe Maiori, the most important and best-known artefact from the Nuragic period. See you on board!
What we will do
I will be waiting for you at 9.30 a.m. in Tempio Pausania on board my 4x4, ready to take you for a day of exciting discoveries in the territories of northern Gallura.
Gas to the engine and off we go! Along a route on dirt roads, we will reach the Tomb of the Giants of Pascaredda, a cemetery of nuragic villages and an archaeological site, shrouded in a timeless atmosphere.
We will then make another stretch by car to reach Monte Limbara, as far as Vallicciola and beyond, reaching the summit at a height of 1100 metres. Here we will stop to admire the beautiful landscape overlooking northern Gallura and Corsica.
After the long journey we will be feeling peckish, so we will take advantage of this for a lunch break. We will taste some typical products such as pane carasau, spianata sarda, salami and sott'oli, accompanied by water and drinks.
From the summit we will descend towards Tempio Pausania to reach the Nuraghe Maiori, where we will take a guided tour. This is one of the most important and well-known stone constructions dating back to the Nuragic period, a giant that never ceases to fascinate.
At the end of the visit we will return to the starting point at around 16:30, after a 7-hour tour.

Children under 4 years of age do not pay.

The excursion is available all year round, every day, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
The off-road vehicle can accommodate up to 5 persons, plus the driver. For small children, parents can bring their own child seat or booster seat on board.
Included in the excursion price is lunch, at which typical local products such as pane carasau, spianata sarda, salami and pickles will be offered. In the event of food allergies or intolerances, please inform the organisers at the contact details given in the booking confirmation.
