Full description
Cycling is good for you. Pedalling an e-bike in the hills of Florence? Almost a therapy.
In a two and a half hour guided tour you will discover the most authentic side of the city, far from the chaos of the centre: from the village of Pian dei Giullari, where Galileo lived, to San Miniato al Monte, the most spectacular point from which to admire Florence from above.
And between one ride and the next, a tasty stop awaits you: homemade bread and Tuscan extra virgin olive oil, sampled right where it was born, amidst olive groves and fragrant gardens.
What we will do
The appointment is at the time selected during the booking process in Florence, ready to leave the city for a full day in the Tuscan countryside.
The staff will welcome us and hand over electric bikes, helmets and water bottles, making sure everything is perfect for our comfort and safety. After a short briefing, we will start cycling towards the hills: we will ride up to the village of Pian dei Giullari, a place steeped in history where Galileo lived.
Along the way we will enjoy the Tuscan countryside, among olive groves and vineyards, until we stop at an estate with gardens and olive groves: here we will taste extra virgin olive oil with homemade bread, while the guide will tell us all about the olive harvesting process and oil production.
After the tasting, which lasts about 30-45 minutes, we will resume the tour, pedalling towards one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Florence: the basilica of San Miniato al Monte. From here we will be able to admire the Duomo and the entire city from above, with the Tuscan landscape stretching to the horizon.
After about 2 ½ hours and 11 km of cycling we will return to our starting point, with the satisfaction of having seen and experienced a Florence that goes beyond its best-known squares.
